Show off your rare/prototype video game stuff....

The WMS Saurian Front is fricking wicked cool... damn! All this stuff is really neat.

I'm guessing the response to the name while it was on test was kind of "what's a Saurian?" you know, like no game ever had an original character in the title before. whatever.

enclosed in the plastic wrapping on the cabinet was a rolled up film that when I unraveled it was the artwork that would have been on the 19" cabinet bezel. I'm guessing they were planning on doing both 19" and 25" like Smash TV (the 25" obviously being the same cabinet style, and with the same plain black bezel). I'd like to get it scanned and colored in someday.

somewhere along the way in the transition of the video game division from Williams to Midway they decided to give away the game under its new title, Strike Force, to people that bought other games from the time. so if you bought a Super High Impact, Total Carnage, or Terminator 2, you got a Strike Force kit for free.

not sure if I noted in my original post that the game software is for Strike Force. wish I could get the Saurian Front one. :(

Here's some more of the attract mode. It's the only thing working presently. Note the sprite error on the second screen, parts of the pylon are within the net. This is the way the data came to me and it is part of the hand assembled 2076 code. This is as far as the project got before it was put on hold. These screens each appear for about 3 seconds before changing to the next. The screen with the 'Space Shuttle' is animated; the ship starts out small and grows as it spins counter-clockwise 360 degrees.

It's kind of boring in B&W. So...

Is there any new progress on getting Rocket Racer working ?

What a sweet find! That definitely needs scanning!

I reached out to Rich at ThisOldGame yesterday about it. I'd love to get custom glass for it.

I really wish I had a copy of the instruction paper that goes in the factory bezel. no such scan exists and there's nothing even in the Strike Force manual for it that I've found.
