Show off your rare/prototype video game stuff....

@Arcadium - It's been great seeing that Rocket Racer!

I only have a couple of items that might fall within the topic of this post.

This Baby Pac-man would be one of them:

This alternate Pengo artwork is the other, which I know nearly nothing about concerning its origin. Thanks again to Anthony for selling this to me back in the day! In my top 3 games.

I have a full kit of Punky Doodle by Sunsoft. Working PCB, bezel, marquee, and sideart. They were installed in MIdway (Pac-Man) style cabinets. As far as I know I have the only one.

I had around 1,000+ various cartridge prototypes for NES, Genesis, etc....but now down to around 200-250 or left...

I have a few prototype PlayChoice games, and one Nintendo Super System prototype (Stanley Cup)

Williams Saurian Front (aka. the developer-only dedicated version of Midway Strike Force, one of either five or six in existence). considering I pulled money out of it, I'm guessing it was a location test unit. only downside is it has the Midway Strikeforce software, I would maybe have to track down Todd Allen to see if the Saurian Front proto roms exist still. from artist Jim Gentile.

Midway Total Carnage SN 40010-X870001 (the first machine made). observe the lack of control panel box art. this was a location test unit, it also has a Prototype 2.0 rom set that isn't in MAME. from sound designer Jon Hey.

Here's some more of the attract mode. It's the only thing working presently. Note the sprite error on the second screen, parts of the pylon are within the net. This is the way the data came to me and it is part of the hand assembled 2076 code. This is as far as the project got before it was put on hold. These screens each appear for about 3 seconds before changing to the next. The screen with the 'Space Shuttle' is animated; the ship starts out small and grows as it spins counter-clockwise 360 degrees.

It's kind of boring in B&W. So...
That's really cool, thanks a ton for providing more pics! Sucks that the game doesn't have more to it than the attract screen; but still an awesome piece of vector history to see!

mortal kombat stuff

-2nd of 3 prototype Baraka heads developed for MK2...
the 3rd made it into the game...pretty much exactly the same as the second without the hair

-mortal kombat 9 promo banner made for some tourney

and

-goro mortal kombat 1 standee used to promote the home console versions. Took me forever to track it down.

i have tons more....

wish i could find cool bad dudes stuff

You know, you could have gone with "The rarest of arcade items:

that's right, guys. plenty of open space for your collection!

oh yeah baby, i can feel the jealousy pulsing through the internet."

:) that's exactly where I thought he was going with the empty room too.

...can you tell I've run out of space for new games? (for now anyways... :cool2: )

OK, so this isn't arcade but it's still a video game. A console game to be exact. And it is rare. Best I have as far as I know.

What appears to be an undocumented early version of Exidy Crash. Take note of the score info being at the top of the screen along with the "junk yard" in the middle that collects your wrecked cars and different graphics used for the grid/lanes.

good day.

good day.

Judging by the fact that it uses eproms instead of 6341 proms, it's probably a late version.

Don't know if it's considered valuable, but I have a Sega kiosk that's extremely uncommon, and it's the only one of this variation that I've ever seen from this manufacturer.

I got it for 99 cents from a local ebay auction :D

This is probably the rarest of the rare.
Vectorbeam Scramble was though to be a mock up game on a flyer only.
Turns out I found parts of the 1 game actually made.
I had the marquee, instruction plex, PCB and special monitor.

Have you or whomever now has the board tried it and backed up the ROMs yet? If not make sure someone does just for preservation sakes, even if they never intend to make them public.

I know of someone with a working pcb, I had a chance to play it. Hopefully the parts went to the same place.
