There is a corresponding thread in Pinside (over 870 replies in less than a year) and I find it thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining to read and see the pics, so I thought I'd try it here.

I'll start with my Black Widow prototype marquee (note color differences and no Atari name or logo).

Let's see your rare and prototype stuff!

If you're interested in the counterpart Pinside pinball thread you can view it here:

Great thread idea, Joe! I wish I had anything to show. :( Is your Kram considered a prototype too?

Looking forward to see what's posted here!

Used to have a prototype Mace: The Dark Age that was in an Atari Exec's office for years. Ended up donating it to the Galloping Ghost Arcade. If you fast forward to the 27:58 in the video below, you can see Doc showing it off at the arcade...

I wish I had something I could contribute to this thread other than peanut gallery commentary!

Joe, you could populate this thread many times over with goodies, if I recall! Did you ever get Akka Arrh squared away after it pooched in the video with John?

Cool Black Widow marquee! Now if your neighbor would ever release the Taito one to you...

That is actually very awesome, used to play this game a lot at my local arcade growing up really cool to see a prototype cab.

Prototype Libble Rabble; ROMS partially translated to English, different encryption, some scoring bugs, hand wiring on PCB. Hand cut and colored instruction cards.

I have had a few rare items overs the years, such as the following, but I cannot think of anything prototype that I've ever had from BITD.

Missile Command CT NOS topglass
- Installed it on a restored Canadian MC CT before selling it.

Dig Dug cabaret NOS CPO
- Sold it years ago and hope it found it's way onto a nice restoration (the repros were already underway, so I don't think it was used as a template, although that would have been a great use for it).

Xevious NOS CPO
- What the repros were made from all those years ago.

Rygar NOS kit
- All NOS artwork and everything but the original wiring harness.

Quartet 2 NOS kit
- Installed it in a converted factory Choplifter cabinet and a fellow KLOVer has it now.

Namco Great Sluggers NOS kit
- I still have it.

Not really sure if these qualify, but i thought i'd share.

First up is an Italian Olympia cab. We're not quite sure what game was originally in it as theres some debate raging in another thread. I really dig the artwork on this thing, and its in quite good condition compared to a few of the other Olympia cabs i've seen online. Plans for it are to clean it up, make a few minor repairs and if i can't get it original, at least make a custom marquee that matches the theme and use it as a Shmup collection cab. I have a bunch of Shmup PCB's i'd love to see playable in a machine in my collection. I really dig this cab. :)

Next up is a 1978 Playmatic "Chance". Maybe i'm a little vain, but when i saw this go up on Kijiji i had to have it. It needs some work, and not many of the local pin guys seem to know much about Playmatic machines. According to Pinside there are only 5 known in the database, mine is the only one not in Europe. Finding parts for it is a bit of a bitch, but it's kinda one of those things that will end up being a labour of love. I've already replaced the rubbers and LED'd most of the playfield, however i can't find LED bulbs that fit the extremely small holes for the GI bulbs. I think its just cool to have a pin with a Redhead and my name all over it. I'm trying to fix the glitchy score displays at the moment, looks like i'm going to have to replace a bunch of IC's on the little display PCB's.
