Show me your budget build mame cabs/ help cutting down price on my new project

HI guys. I'm working on a cabaret cab and I don't think I'm going to be able to invest as much as i thought i was. I would love to see what you guys have made with little money.

I'm building a replica ms pacman cabaret cab. Here is my proposed cost sheet that I'm trying to slash. I would really appreciate any ideas on cutting the cost down Thanks.

Speaker grills $10.00
Speakers $20.00

TOTAL $688.00

Your not gonna be able to build budget doing one from scratch unless you just have a wood shop and have access to the tools and wood like scraps and stuff. Best bet is to find a cab already made and build your plans around that.

i could make a nice one for 350$ or less

Cheap stripped dynamo cab(contro panel and coin doors included): 40$
pc from craigslist : 50$
old 25 in tv with svideo port(or a free 21inch plus pc crt from craigslist): 30$
controlls:2 joy sticks 6 buttons player and 1/2 player start button, 3 misc: 40$
keyboard interface: 25$
wiring and such: 12$
art: 80$(marquee and control panel and bezel)
misc supplies and paint: 40$

317$

allot less for me since 80% of it i have already

well first i bought the cab for $50

then i bought a failed controller project on ebay that gave me a bunch of buttons, two sticks and most importantly a keyboard encoder. it was about $45 shipped since it was so big.

cut out a new conrtoll panel from a $5 sheet of mdf.

the PC is a old windows 2000 i had in the closet and the crt monitor was donated by a guy i work with on the condition i carried the huge thing from his house

i guess im into the whole thing for less then $150 so far, including the wire, solder and various small investments. still need to build a bezzle for between the glass and monitor and then get my art looking right
