Im sure anyone following Hans log on the siegecraft site has seen his notes about the "box o boards". Im afraid that Im the culprit behind that box;)

I had a non working Gorgar sitting in the corner, then I bought several more system 6 games (Blackout, Scorpion, Laserball) in a barn find, and theyve been my back burner projects over the last 6 months or so, when Im bored with nothing else to fool with.

I rebuilt the power supplies and sound boards myself, and sent Hans the Mpu and Drivers from Gorgar, Blackout, Scorpion and a spare set I had from Firepower. He asked what I wanted done, and my instructions were not to just fix them to where they were working, but to repair/replace anything that looked flaky or like it might cause a problem in the future. Not to just patch it up, but to do it to where I dont have to worry about them anytime soon.

The boards I got back from him were unbelievable. The had been cleaned. Any previous repair work had been removed and replaced. all the solder work was EXTREMELY neat. The attention to detail he gave those boards was above and beyond what I was expecting. They looked like new boards.

Gorgar was up and running within minutes.

I had repaired the wiring and shopped Scorpion a couple months back, so once I got the boards in it it took about a half hour to tweak the switches and contacts to get everything running smoothly.

Blackout was a different story as it hadnt been touched since I brought it in. I went out this morning and started on the wiring (rat damage, same as the scorpion.). After about 6 hours, I had all the wiring repaired/replaced (breaks were twisted together, soldered and sealed with heatshrink), boards installed and voltages checked, lifted the playfield and checked switches, wiring, ect, replaced 3 burnt locked coils.

End story, when I flipped the switch on Blackout tonight it loaded right up, I coined up and played a game! Tomorrow Ill strip the playfield, clean, wax, replace rubbers, ect, and clean 6-8 contacts that wern't working tonight and it'll be ready to add to the lineup!

Thank you Hans, for the quality of your work, your attention to detail, your ability to keep me informed of every step of the process, and for being an all around hell of a guy! If you factor in that the work was done for about half what I was expecting it to cost, and you have one hell of a deal!

LOL and the first thought in my mind is that 4th CPU board that was still giving you issues.

That one still being cranky?

Lol, yea, its still got an attitude, but that was part of the reason for sending 4 sets with only 3 games ready for them;). Ill get that board back to you as soon as I get a few minutes free. It aggrievates me that I cant find a donor cabinet for the Lazerball, Id love to have it in the lineup with its brothers. I guess when I get the Space Invaders restore done I may have to build a cabinet for it

Another shoutout for a greatly repaired Gorgar board set. After 2 months I finally got to play my 5th game on him.

Thanks for the great work Hans.
