should I clean this ulgy yellow sticker off of my otherwise nice looking Spider-Man marquee? I'm sort of on the fence as to what to do with it...it annoys me, but at the same time it sort of reminds me of the time when all that sort of thing started...but, I think the game would look a lot better without it.

What do you guys think? keep it or get rid of it?

how faded do you think that marquee might be? it's very possible that removing that sticker may reveal a very bright colored square of the original graphics that has been covered all these years by the sticker. Not sure if that will look better or worse than the sticker but it's something to consider.

I say it depends on what VINTAGE route you wanna go.
Original Spiderman arcade machine in ______ condition.
or
Original Spiderman arcade machine in how it looked in the arcade back in the day condition.

It doesn't look like there is much if any fade to the marquee...its in good shape.

I find myself looking at that sticker while i'm playing the game lol...its sort of distracting.

Also...i'm guessing this is something that Aladin's put on there right? This wasn't something that came from the factory was it?

I left mine on my AvP, it's got some fade tho and i'm just to lazy to attempt to remove it.

It's a personal choice.

Most of the marquee fade should be from the fluoroescent light inside so I doubt he should see much of a difference since the sticker is on the front.

I always remove stickers like that. Auction stickers are the worst, but if you soak the end of it in a bucket of water, it will come off easy after an hour or so.

Assuming it's glass. You have to be careful no to get it on the backside, but a few drops of WD-40 rubbed in from the front will cause most stickers to let go.

its plexi...will probably get rid of it i think

I'd keep that one if it's mint. If the edges are torn or the decal is poorly adhered/placed, I'd remove it. If it's in mint shape and well placed, I'd leave it. That one looks factory even though it's not.

Sure, take it off. Use some lighter fluid on it or some Goo Gone if it's on the front of the plexi.

Just don't do what I did and try to remove one from your X-Men translite marquee. I buckled the translite when I was cleaning it and put a nice big crack in an otherwise perfect marquee. Still haven't been able to find another replacement for that damned thing.

Put a hair dryer or heat gun on the sticker to warm it up. Peel it off. Use wd-40 on a rag to remove any remaining goo.

Leave the sticker on there, dude. That tells everyone that you can afford brand new stuff:

Seriously though, I'd take it off.

i hate new hats.

not sure what to take it off with, i'm afraid that using heat might damage it.

would soaking the whole thing in water be bad? I've never messed around with these before and i sure wouldn't want to screw it up.

It's on the front right? Then it's just on the plexiglas and not the graphic right? Best advice, go slow and use googone. Maybe a razor too but go slow!
