My local PawnAmerica has an OutRun upright for $400. I thought I took a picture of it, but now I can't find it on my phone. I'm gonna be back there to sell things either tomorrow or later today, so I can snap a photo then. In the meantime... it looks like it's been on a route, not in the greatest of shape, but presumably, if PA bought it, it must work.

Should I? Or shouldn't I?

sounds like a 300 dollar game...but you know never let a 100 bucks stand between you and what you want.

I always pay a little more for stuff that is close by

No, unless you can talk them down.. But then again if it's one of the games that you just got to have, get it.

if its in really nice shape get it, if its in OK shape and you really like outrun, get it. if theres room to haggle or you got something to trade and you can bring the price down do it.

There are several vendors with replacement art, so you should be able to make it look nice if you are worried about condition. Since it is local, at least you aren't wasting money on shipping across the country. If you want the game, go for it. I paid $150 over what a working Omega Race goes for because it was local and I have never regretted that decision. I am also a brand new Turbo Outrun mini owner and I love the game just as much as I did when I was 12!

Yeah, I dunno. I really like OutRun, but I don't like uprights (drivers/racers, that is). Then again, if I could find a sit-down, what would it cost me? That's why I'm so torn.

-E- Poking around on eBay, all I can say is, screw the upright. I see one guy trying to get rid of a sit-down for $100 and getting no takers! I'll wait for an opportunity to nail a sit-down somewhere.

If you do look at it, kick tires. Is the feedback motor working? Does it steer and shift ok? Does the wheel center ok? These are common issues with Outrun and could work to your advantage in haggling if there are any issues. I'd also mention the game might have a suicide battery to deal with, tell them they need to sell it now before it goes. Don't mention Sega Resurrection.
