should i keep making cabs or not..

Make me some plans Mod.. and a few pics! I don't care if you draw them up in microsoft paint, i can read em :) Aren't those parts 1" thick??

I only need the front piece with the over/under coin door cutout, and the piece above the bezel with the speaker cutout - along with any internal bracing for that shelf.

It's a bit different than Gyruss:

Unfortunately, I don't have one to measure. Perhaps one of our earnest members will do so...

You ask me "how much for a Tron cabinet shipped?" like i am a fucking psychic.

I thought I would reply to this post with this quote as I think my email to you may have been the inspiration. But I thought it deserved a comment. It seems that your side business is definitely adding stress to your life. If your like most people, your probably working your day job to keep your family insured. Your work looks top notch and is the kind of work the game companies should have put into their games at the factory if they had forsaw them lasting 20+ years. There is certainly a demand for these cabinets nationwide. And the empty birch cabs should be reasonable to ship. So you probably have a demand that is great enough to do it as a full time career if your shipping nationwide. If not, you will eventually run out of people to sell to. I would venture that this is why you haven't started doing this full time. All that being said, you do good work, and fill the needs of a niche community. For that, you will have the ability to pick up some extra cash on the side when you need it. But working two jobs is just too much. I would suggest this. When you take orders, schedule completion at a rate of 1 cabinet a week. You should be able to handle that in addition to your home and work life. Put up a website. Take people's paypal and put them on the list. If they're the 22nd person, expect to get it in 22 weeks. And if you happen to get 3 done one week, and 2 people get their games quicker, everyone ends up happy. Then you have time to watch the kids, and your still working toward your goal. Plus, the people you sell to will be the people who really appreciate your work and are willing to wait for the best. But hey, that's just my 2 bits.

It's a great story. But I like the version where after the sand he asks them again, and they say it's full, and he pours his coffee into it, and says something to the effect that it's very important to take a moment and have coffee with friends when you or they need it, as the coffee doesn't stop rocks, pebbles, or sand from entering the jar. ;)

Wow. That was one hell of a run-on sentence...

Version I heard it was beer, but the same theory applies...
