Hey everyone, right now me and a friend stream retro console games on Twitch and we're using a regular coffee table for our drinks and snacks while we sit on the couch and play. I thought it would be neat if I could replace that table with an arcade cocktail machine. Most are way too tall though at around 3 feet high, like the typical Pacman cocktail machines that often come up for sale, so those would never work.

But are there any that are much shorter? Maybe some that are on legs that can be removed and still be stable as a table? Not really looking for custom stuff, but genuine arcade machines that I would leave on while we play just for the coolness of it all. The current coffee table we're using is 18 inches high, I doubt we'd find an arcade cocktail machine at that height, but maybe we could make it work if it was say 24 inches or so tall.

Yeah it's a longshot but figured it doesn't hurt to ask :)

You could probably pull the legs off a Nintendo cocktail and it would be short enough.

Hmm, do they totally come off? It looks like they can be adjusted, but if you remove the bottom legs it almost looks like two pipes would remain attached to the main cabinet, where the legs slide into.

months ago I requested Reality make some midget videos with cabaret-size games, but my request was denied. :(

Those Moppet games are tough to find!

On a different note I think I found the perfect table, albeit too late. There's a Pong table kickstarter that ended some time ago but they are supposedly shipping soon, that would be perfect. Hopefully they will allow non kickstarter people to buy them soon!

I got in on that Kickstarter, I know a few guys here got in on it too. That's exactly why I bought it, a cool coffee table even when it's not being played. There's been a few delays, but I believe they're supposed to be shipping in Spring. They said they will go on sale to the general public afterwards, so you can pick one up then. I'll post up when it arrives. Hopefully the game is as good as it sounds, and looks. :)

Awesome! Yes I'd be very interested in that, it looks perfect, I think I'll hang tight and wait for that. I wonder if it'll have an attract mode where it's playing on it's own when idling, that would be ideal. Ugh, can't believe I missed that kickstarter :(

My first thought was the PONG coffee table. Its only 19.2" tall.

all kidding aside, i just measured my Frogger cocktail. no legs, bottom surface to glass top is 20"

pull the legs, and fix small feet/legs on the bottom for corners (will need something wide'ish to ensure stability, and enough vertical clearance for the power cable exiting the game itself), and there's something coffee table'ish for ya.

Yeah the table I'm currently using is 48w x 24d x 18h, so the Pong table would be a perfect replacement!

Hmm interesting, I guess I can still look into that since it may be many months until the Pong table is for sale. Could you check the width and depth of it as well?

24" wide (which a couple extra inches on either side for the CPs), so between 27 and 28" wide

36" deep

dedicated Sega Frogger cocktail

Find a japanese cocktail cab. most of them have adjustable legs. IMO at this rate tho, you might as well just build something special.

Cool, thank you!

Maybe, but at that point I think I'd just go for that Pong table.

There will be an attract mode, but I don't think the game will play itself since the paddle and ball are actual pieces, not a digital screen. Works with magnets and I think belts? It's been a while since I looked at the construction documentation. Attract mode will have multi colored LED lights and a clock feature where the score would normall be. I think you can have just the clock on with everything else off if you were watching a movie or something. I'll look through my emails and later and post up some stuff for you.

I backed the Pong table too. I don't recall if it has an attract mode, but you can play one-player, so it is able to move on its own. They have it available for presale through a few distributors now (Pinballsales.com is one), but the projected retail price shot up to $3,000, so it's not cheap.

Oh really lol, well damn I didn't realize it was that much. Hmmmmmmm ok, maybe I will look into that Frogger cocktail just in case.

As we advance towards the tuning of the original prototype, so we could reach a higher-end product, we faced the fact that the production and logistic costs would be over of what we originally expected.

For this reason, we had to re think our pricing strategy and Table Pong suggested retail price is USD 2,799.00*.

*recommended retail price may vary per country, in relation with taxes and import duties.

That was an update we received in November. Now our price is locked in, and significantly lower thankfully, but yeah it won't be cheap once it's released to the public.

If you want more details let me know, but it sounds like you're headed in another direction. Understandably so!

Hey I was eyeballing something like this:

Seems like DK cocktails are easier to find than Frogger. It looks to be like if you remove the two bolts that hold a leg in place, that the leg will automatically sink to the lowest possible position and still be stable for table use, that sound about right?

That looks great. I would imagine so. If not, you can always remove the legs altogether and fabricate your own feet that could line up with the leg bracket. You just need to keep it stable while it's on the floor, I think it can be done. Honestly surprised more people here haven't done that already, lol.
