Short Asteroids Repair Log: Shots/Saucer Sounds

Had an Asteroids that made all the sounds correctly, save for the ship and saucer firing sounds; they were just long beeps with no decay to make them sound like they should.

Found that these chips, along with the usual array of caps, resistors and such, could be the problem:
NE555
LM324
4016
LS259.

Had already done the usual cleaning, reseating, etc. of chips, edge connector and such. So, went on to the next easiest thing to check - the socketed 4016 chips.

Swapped out a M9 and N10. Now, the shots were fine but a long beep was in place of silence that only went away, to silence, when the saucer came out. Popped a new 4016 in to M9 - all good now!
