Here's my situation, I found a game in MD that needs to come all the way to me in Ga. The seller doesn't want to be hassled so I need door to door service. Here's the hitch the seller requires the game to be picked up withing 7 days of the deal. I don't know but to me with weekends and acts of God and such that seems a little unreasonable, doesn't it ? I could jump in my truck and drive the 26 hr round trip I guess.... I'm wondering does anyone know NAVLs normal turn around on shipping an arcade?

When I've had my last 2 games shipped they picked it up with a week, including a weekend. I made the arrangements friday and they picked it up the next wednesday for one situation. The other it took about a week as well, maybe 8 days with the weekend.

I used Specialized Transportation twice recently and I'm pretty sure they were able to pick it up within a week (or at least contact the seller to arrange a pickup day/time within a week). It's reasonably priced for door-to-door service. They will pick up the game (ground floor), put cardboard on the corners and wrap it.

Here's the contact I used:

If you give him a definitive pick-up date that's a little beyond 7 days, he might be reasonable about it. Otherwise, the "it needs to be gone in 7 days or less" ultimatum usually get an "Okay, thanks anyway - sell it to someone else" response from me.

(And, if he needs the space that badly, he might be motivated to sell it for less. ;) )

there are klover's in MD.. maybe one of them could pick up the game for you and then you arrange more flexible shipping from thier place...

Much sadness I missed the deal waiting on NAVL to get back to me on what it would cost to ship. I mean they still haven't let me know and I called them first thing yesterday. As sad as I am to miss out on such a nice game the last quote I got from NAVL for shipping a game awhile back was like $400. So I couldn't chance getting the game and finding out the total cost was above the money in my pocket. How hard is it to tell me what you charge right then and there when I call you. If you are a shipper, shouldn't you know what you charge to "ship" stuff ??

Ok now I don't feel so bad. I called NAVL again to see why it took them so long they put me thru to an agent who said shipping a 200lb game from MD to GA would run me $482 dollars (that's driveway to driveway). Hate that I missed the game but wow, just wow almost $500 to ship a game on the same coast. The last game I got a quote for was high but atleast it was coming across country from CA to Ga.

Naval

They are spuratic on there pick-up and delivery. I have waited almost 3 weeks before for them to pick up a game from me. Also, It has taken 3 weeks to deliver one to its new home as well. It must go back to there depot to wait for a full load to go to the area it is being dropped off at. They are never sure of a delivery date.

$482?! Wow, I just had 2 pins shipped from UT to MI for $400 total door to door. That seems kind of high.

You can get a much cheaper rate if you have it delievered to business instead of residential. Have any friends you can use? I do heh

Also - I have always called them and got a shipping rate right then and there. Never use email. Too easy to ignore and I'm sure they are busy too!
