I have a pull behind trailer I use to transportate (yes) my games. I found a machine that is about 5 hours each way from me. Would I be better off going to get it, buying gas, meal, tolls....or having a trucking company bring it?

What is ballpark rate for a...

Delivered 5 hours to a residence? Ballpark figure...

I'd say since its a large driver....you're looking at 800 give or take for delivery to your door.

Depending on how much your time is worth and who you have to help you move the thing, it might be better getting it yourself. Out here, we have 15' trucks with liftgates and the day rate is $100 or so/day. I'd probably make the drive as that's the fun part of acquiring games.

Then again, I flew to Georgia and drove back to CA with games so anything is a joy ride now.

If it's going to cost more than $250 or so, I'll go get it. I'm self-employed (medical accounting), so my schedule is wide open.

Do you know if this game splits in two, like Daytona, of ease of transport?

I already have a trailer, as I do mobile DJ work as a side venture/hobby.

Seller informed me that the two sides DO NOT come apart. I wonder how hard it will be to get this down a flight of stairs and through a single door?

If you have a vehicle that can tow one of the larger U-haul trailers, then by all means, get the larger open trailer and go get it yourself. I'm almost positive the marquee comes off with a few bolts, and each driver comes apart. The guy to ask is Radiac....he's a driver game freak on the forums and would know.

Yes, the seats come apart from the main body....but the two "sides" do not come apart, like Daytona does.

I wonder if this is impossible, or just be a major pain?

hmmmm, Full Throttle has a Daytona and they come apart. I would ask around, you might be surprised. My bet is they do split.

Anything is possible:). We've manuevered pod racers, steel talons, and Grand Prix Star around theu doors and such. Seats usually always seperate from the monitor sections. So, I would assume in theory, this would do the same. Once the seats are detached, the dual monitor setup should wheel thru a standard front door.

EDIT: the monitor section will be heavy as hell! Bring another set of hands if you're taking it down stairs. Wrap the section in a blanket, becuase it will most likely scrap against the seller's walls.

I have a pair of Daytona empty cabs, and they split...but the seller tells me this Rave Racer does not. I'd be surprised if it does not split....I think almost all twin racers come apart somehow.

I wonder if the steering wheels stick out too far? If so, they can come off. I have experience taking Daytona's apart, so this should be similar.

I' worry more about the shifter sticking out, but they both can come off. I would bet you'd still get it thru the door without takin' them off. Now getting it thru your bedroom door? not so easy.

If you find a company for less than 250 then let us all know.
Best is to make the drive and your not waiting on someone else.
I am sure they won't be as careful with it as you would like.

as long as you aint got no major tight turns you should be fine to get it in. I still wouldnt doubt there is a way to split the 2.

I ship daily thru my work. I use carriers such as r&l, conway, usf holland. The problem with getting that shipped is that while it will fit on such a truck there really isnt a easy way to get it on/off. The lift gates on those trucks dont lift a very heavy weight. And adding in the cost's for lift gate and a residential delivery is extremely high. if this could be delivered from business to business with a loading dock then it could be pretty cheap.

That looks almost identical to the way Tokyo Wars is made. If that is so, you can unbolt the top and take it off. You can also remove the seat section. The main body is one piece and on wheels, but quite heavy, so I don't envy your stair adventure. I'd have at least 4 people handy, as the weight will be the issue. But - if they got it up there, it should come down. Unless it was craned in during home construction (like said client with the Tokyo Wars).

I've also moved it in the back of an F150 (with a lift gate), so it doesn't need a HUGE trailer unless you plan on keeping it all put together....

I would pick it up. If you want to ship it, check with Spee Dee Delivery. They have the lowest rates I have yet seen for shipping larger freight items. They are based out of St. Cloud, and have a 7 state delivery radius. It couldn't hurt to check with them.
