Shipping horrors (post pics)

That - sadly - is exactly how I feel most of my packages are treated during the shipping process...... (excellent video!)

When I lived in an apartment I had a USPS guy that would grenade lob my boxes over a fence and onto my back patio. Really fucking annoying. In some cases, I didn't even know a package arrived until a few weeks later when I found it rained on and stuck in a corner.

That is a good one!

Non-arcade, but this really pissed me off..but the box ended up barely damaged somehow. I recall the seller was a real flake-

OH MAN! I feel your pain. About 10 years ago I bought a still MOC carded ROTJ R2-D2 signed by Kenny Baker off ebay and the idiot who sent it put it in one of those small DVD sized box and it showed up and the bubble was all crushed at teh bottom.

Broke my heart...

Still one of my favorites:

The fairy tale ending to this journey was the UPS delivery man plopping the package on the deck and saying "It sounds like a box of broken glass!".

Wow... Luckily I've never (knock on wood) had a bad delivery person. If I'm home and I see them coming I go out and say high and thank them for bringing me my packages.

You should also put a little something ($5 Starbucks card or something like that) in the mailbox for them at Christmas. It helps. :)

As for "Fragile", be carefull with that...drivers seem to throw those boxes with "fragile" written on them bit harder for some reason...
Yes I heard that before, and after hearing that I never wrote "Fragile" or similar on any package again, even when I shipped monitors, or glass bezels & marquees. Since then I just pack things with the expectation that someone along the way will intentionally try to damage it.

Thinking I was getting a good deal on ebay until I actually got the package in the mail. Looked like someone tried the "TEST YOUR MIGHT!" a.k.a the "DIM MAK" on my package.

Doesn't help the sender decided to send two marquees bobbing around two USPS boxes held together by a small piece of tape.

OMG Dude the dim mak thing had me rolling, then I looked at the pic and it does indeed look like Van Damme is a sorter at USPS now, and shows off to his coworkers from time-to-time. I'm still cracking up. lol

Bloodsport for an eternal win.

LOL. Same here. Bloodsport is classic. Nice. :D

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that one and maybe some others came with multiple art versions/colors.

Years ago, I got back into vintage SW, just long enough to pick up some pieces that I missed 'back in the day' on Ebay and some reissues, like the Imperial Shuttle, which I missed during the ROTJ era. I found the blue Snaggletooth in a comic book store in Pittsburgh and bought some more loose figures on Ebay that I didn't have as a child. I have all of the vintage figures loose, except for half of the POTF line, and I have a dozen or so mint on the card. Most of the carded figs I bought in the late 80s/early 90s when they were worth very little.

Majority of my collection came after the Star War's zenith. I remember going to K&B and getting carded figures for around a buck! It wasn't till the late 80's were I really went hog wild, and starting to buy the carded stuff like the twelve backs and what not...

What really broke my bank was the POTF force line that came out in '85. It's the line w/ the coins. Not only are the figures uber expensive, but also the vehicles...

I probably got about 60+ carded figures and most of the vehicles sans some of the cardboard playsets. My carded figures severly lack the Star Wars twelve backs. At that time they were going for big bucks, but I did notice them as of late depreciate.. Still in need of carded Yak Face and Anakin and some of the other costly ones......

I had a guy who wrote "air delivered" on the sticky note when he threw packages on to our 3rd story balcony.

Our carriers (USPS, UPS, FED EX) are generally pretty good. I had this loss though -

Bought a replacement light saber assembly for my Star Wars pinball. Was so excited to get it. Box did not look bad and item was packed VERY well, but obviously got squished at some point:

But sadness was inside :(

I had an awesome, and i mean AWESOME seller though. I contacted him (he did pack the item well inside) and he filed a claim with Fed Ex. He COMPLETELY refunded my purchase price immediately, and as a total suprise to me, sent me a complete light saber assembly replacement for no charge.

I had the exact same thing recently with a Time Pilot marquee. (Wonder if it was the same seller?) The guy re-used a Priority box clam-shell, didn't even bother taking off the old tape, threw the marquee inside with NO packing material and then used two small pieces of tape on either side. Yeah it was toast by the time I got it. If he had used just one sheet of newspaper it probably would've arrived ok. People are just stupid-lazy sometimes.

This fell off of the pallet in the truck...

I also get computers and monitor chassis from our theatres tossed into a box with NO packaging what so ever.

So, gamefixer, were you able to 'fix' that game? :D

Not yet. The trucking company wont let me touch it until they make a decision on the damage claim. I guess a bunch of pictures inst enough proof that the game is destroyed.

I'm not going to fix it anyway. I'm going to scrap it for parts.

Here's how UPS delivered my Scramble bezel a few months ago:

A corner of the box was bashed in, so it was pretty clear it had been dropped.
