I've got a buddy who delivers freight for a living. I've looked at using him to ship cars before, but it never crossed my mind to use him for this hobby. He is more than willing to ship games across country for not only me, but for the whole community as well. He typically runs East-West routes, but he might be able to swing some North-South runs. His pricing is incredibly reasonable, especially because he is just adding these on top of his existing loads. I'm still working out the details about cost and insurance. Is there any interested in this service?

There is always an intrest in saving money, espically on shipping. I have heard of other truckers doing the same type thing. I think it was called backhaul?
That was where truckers were returning after dropping off the cargo and had an empty truck.

I have some games in CA that I am looking at but it is hard to find a backhaul from CA to MD.

What kinds of pricing are we looking at and locations?

They will be fully insured, so god forbid something does happen they will be covered.

Pricing is obviously on a case by case basis, but it will most likely be cost per mile (more miles will be cheaper per mile). Location is door to door, or it is possible to meet him somewhere along his route to save some (example, he commonly goes through Cheyenne, so if I were to have him ship something I would probably meet him there). He is talking to his office now to see what exactly how the pricing will work.
