I did some searching on this and there's lot's of information on what to do when the sound dies. My sound hasn't died though. It's just really low. I can hear (barely) it when I turn it up really high. I'm guessing it's a sound amp or something like that but I'm not sure where to start? Any advice?

I've got a Shinobi on a System 16 B type lying around I still haven't tested, but I might suggest starting with the audio chip attached to the large heat sync near the edge of the connector side. Normally has a Sega decal with a serial number on it (on the side of the heat sync).

Otherwise I wouldn't know enough where to start on an issue like this.

Good advice from both of you. Thanks!

I found the problem. There's that old volume knob on the board that fixes things like this. :)

I was going off the volume knob on the inside of the coin door. Looks like they work together.
