Shill Bidding at its best!!!

I've been watching that auction, too. Not to bid (I don't have the cash), but because that's a pin I'd love to have.

I was curious as to how much it would ultimately go for.

I know this guy. He seems like a decent guy, but I have seen that a lot of his auctions have a suspiciously high number of bids.

I HATE the frickin' "private bidders" and masked bidder names on eBay. Before they started that crap, it was pretty easy to tell when someone was shill biding (so you'd know when to drop out).

LOL yea there i a local retailer here in KS that goes by chillycheap on eBay
aka palemntre games that shill bids the hell out of his games he lists
and the bad thing is the guys games are total hack jobs
one of his pins caught on fire at the last grandview auction and the other local retailers hate him as well LOL (supposedly he is not a bad guy but his business ethics are sub par at best
i just watched a non working NBA jam of his on eBay with a kicked in front get bid up to like 100$ ugggg

What ever happened to the days of a hand shake, and being trustworthy. It seems like guys nowadays just want to get over on people to make a quick buck...Im selling touch screens on the for sale section, if a guy orders 2, i might put 3 or 4 in there.I dont have a ton into the screens so i try to give back to the hobby. I just get pissed when i see guys bid up there crap...Put a price tag of 2000$ on your 1200$ machine and post on craigslist

Why would anyone (other than a shill) bid on an auction that had the bids private like that? At least with the partly-obfuscated bid they normally do, you can still see when one guy is bidding too much to be real.

On the other hand, when I was selling some old Magic cards, I did have a few no-brain bidders that would bid repeatedly in an effort to just slightly out-bid the previous guy. Stupid because they'd have to do it well before auction end (otherwise they wouldn't have to time keep upping their bid by a little and try to beat the guy by 1 cent), and they always lost out to some last minute bid-sniper.

I still sell on ebay, but the dumb-assery that goes on there is starting to get on my nerves. I want to go back to the days when if you had a problem with someone you could get his info from ebay by being willing to have them send yours to him.

ALL his auctions are like this. Minimum 20 bids. I remember someone saying the seller TOLD him they were shilling. Whats also strange is there is no leaves on any of the trees. Wonder when the pics were taken?

How irritating....he probably sold it in Feb of this year and ended up buying it himself and now it's been long enough to relist. Betcha he still has that Tron he sold for $1600 too!

No flipping way he had 50 bids on it, I NEVER see that many bids on a single arcade item on E-Gay.

Sorry for the rant but this kinda shit pisses me off....

guys like that tend to run themselves out of business...

most of us wont touch his stiff now right? so the longer this krap goes on the less interest he will have in his items...
hes only shooting himself right in the foot pulling this krap.

This same guy seems to pop up on these threads every once in awhile. Yes, he's known for shill bidding. I've met the guy in person and he was extremely nice. This isn't his full time job. He actually works for one of the Big 3 if I remember right. He has buddies that do the restorations for him and he sells them on Ebay. Always has great stuff but i'll never bid on something from him.

I've seen several auctions of his over the years, always a crazy number of bidders on all his machines, high prices, and like Donny stated...Shill Bidding at its best!!!
