Seem to be having a bit of trouble finding these. The old balls are worn and I was looking for replacements. However the original threads are brass 1/2" course thread. 12mm is close however 1/2" is more snug and better fit.
All I've managed to come across are 6mm brass threads so far.
Anyone may know a good source? Or am I stuck trying to polish these up best I can? Originals are black, I'd just like to get them glossy and shining.

1/2" bolt in a drill and spin till my fingers burn off?

I don't know specifically about the ones you're talking about, but in the past I've re-threaded joystick ball tops. I just drilled and tapped them with the thread I wanted... really easy.

Otherwise, yeah... I'd stick them in a drill and polish. I assume they're metal? You might try some wadding polish (like: http://www.eagleone.com/nevr-dull-wadding-polish )... I've gotten some really good results with that stuff.

No I think they're actually a plastic material with a brass fitting injected for the threads. But yea I feared having to do the drill spin and burn thing.
