I capped this monitor about 8 months ago before the hot summer months and it came out fine. Then after the summer hot months in my garage I fired this up after sitting it for a few months unplayed and it displayed this problem. My DK monitor also went on the fritz but I haven't taken pictures of that one as it's snowy and may be an adjustment.

My Playchoice with this odd band is bothering me cause I think it really can't be a cap issue. It's that obvious band on the left side of the screen.

Thoughts O monitor GURUs?

That's typically referred to as a humbar. EDIT - a humbar if it's moving across teh screen ;)
Ensure you have a solid ground to the monitor frame as well as the power plug has all 3 prongs. And if that doesn't work for kicks and grins disconnect the power from the audio board. See if there's some sort of interference there.

non moving - that bar is static.
I'll test all of those tips although.

Thanks

My input......

Heat is not good for ANY electronics, but especially caps that can dry out...... Sometimes the bad cap will 'bubble' a little when they go bad.

Also, check your solder connection(remember that heat thing). Start with the caps you replaced earlier.....

Good Luck!

So thoughts that it may just require another cap kit?

I personally don't think it gets all THAT hot in the garage during the summer months as I'm in the bay area. Winter 50s (nights) and summers about 100~ in the garage max.

I just have a few of them linned up against the outside (garage door) so it make take more heat against the back of these. I think lots of guys store them in the garage right?
