The monitor in my Mario Bros cab has been acting up. I haven't done anything to it as it worked/looked great when I got the game. Anyways, normally it looks great. Every so often it does one of two things.

1)The picture gets really light all over like the brightness turned way up for a flash or even up to a few seconds then it goes back to normal.

2)The greens drop out of the picture for a few seconds up to like 30 seconds but then it returns to normal.*

(* The issue in #2 has always been something that happens for a few seconds then goes back to normal. Today I left the game on for a few hours while I was doing other work and would play a game here or there. I left it for about 2 hours and when I came back the color issue had happened and wouldn't go away. I turned the game off for a few minutes then back on and it still stuck with no green. See the pics below)

I am for sure going to do a cap kit. From other threads I've seen am I right in thinking a new flyback might be necessary for the brightness issue? Just trying to get some ideas before I pull the monitor on if I should order a new flyback and what I should be looking at for the color issue. I have the Sharp Monitor Troubleshooting Guide and page 9 (of 11) has info on the different areas to check so I may take a look at cold solder joints in the different color circuits. Any other ideas? Am I on the right track? My favorite game is sad which makes me sad.

Any ideas or pointers on where to start on this? I could just start picking at the chassis but I have a feeling I'd be wasting a lot of time when the answer might be right in front of me. HELP!!! :)

Cap kit and a new flyback

The fly failing will cause the blooming effect of getting brighter and then fading back to normal. The green being gone is most likely cap related,

Brilliant Dokert... you're my hero. I've got the caps already, just need to order a new flyback.
