Sharp XM-2001 (R-type) Loosing picture after a minute

I would really like to get pointed in the right direction on this issue.
Im not a good monitor repairman, have done about 10 cap kits and som other minor things.

The issue here is that the picture is disappearing after about 40sec, its not completley gone, there is som vague graphics to be seen still, so it plays halfblind I suppose.

A capkit is done on this monitor 3years ago and the voltage is spot on 100Vac

Any clues where to start?

Nobody likes to trouble shoot on this site..

Its just guess and go.

That's ok until you get nowhere.

The what do think?

Dam I got to check something now.

So why not test something now.

until you can't anymore then you can send it out.

Connections come to mind when something is intermittent.

if I move the board tap on it,, is there any changes?

I check for bad connections and shorts before I would even shotgun a part.

It can be rewarding when you trace it down to the main bad components

so the idea is to become good at trouble shooting, not guessing and paying

the price of failure. Next time you will know a lot more about a successful repair.

because you thought about what your doing and how it works.

So what have you checked?

in the video path,, how about the voltage to each circuit?

can you say I have dc on the three resistors and collector of each transistor?

that what amplifies the video and where you would see video.

Does it loose picture if you let it go through the attract mode for more than 40 seconds?
(don't start a game, just let it sit. does it crap out on you?)
