1st of all is it necessary? I have it plugged into the chassis...but there are 2 wires coming off the other side of the transformer (red and white with a Molex connecter). And I have no clue where they go. There is no match for the connector that I can see. I just had the chassis repaired by Chad at arcade cup and I don't want it to fry again. These 2 wires were never connected as long as I have had the game...about a year. Game is Blasteroids.

Its not a line voltage isolation transformer, its an audio transformer up on the monitor frame. Kind of like the ones on a Sanyo 20 EZ.

If your sound comes from the game motherboard and goes to the speakers, you won't need it.

This game has a separate sound board and a subwoofer in addition to the stereo speakers. Does this make a difference? Again, just don't wanna blow anything up. Thanks.

no it does not.
seeing how your game sound is powerd by a diffrent source you are good.
just leave them disconnected it will not hurt the chassis. as a precaution turn down the sound pot on the monitor so your sound amp is not running without a load. its not nessary but cant hurt.

Peace
