So this monitor was doa.. Tube was toast, but figured I'd give it a try rebuilding the chassis..

What I've done:

New fly
New hot (is there a trick to testing these? Can't get a reading unless I pull it out of the chassis.. Which I might do again as I can't figure this out)
New caps
Reflowed solder on just about everything..

Line going across the screen from left to right. This did have a bad tube, which when turned on you got a light show in the neck. I only switched it on for a few seconds, but might have toasted something. (have a tested and working tube now)

Where is the horizontal components on this chassis? As I've fixed a go7 in the past with the same issue.. Thanks for any help!

I dont know this chassis, but most verticle issues are because of the failure of the verticle IC going out. It works hard and goes out alot so I would suggest replacing it and checking the power going to it. Since you said you have already done the caps, this is what I would recommend.

Humm..

Yeah, I've been looking at that IC.. Doesnt look fun to pull.. I have a spare, but it's on a 19" sharp chassis not and 18".. Haven't a clue if they are the same part..
