I had a chance during the break to look at a few chassis which included 2 XM-1801N. Here are a few notes I've started on the Sharp XM-1801N and XM-2001N. If you are working on these 2 chassis and see some common problems feel free to add any additions. These 2 monitors are common in Nintendo, Atari, and possibly others. The 1801N is used specifically in the Nintendo Red Tents.
1. Cracked solder joint on the horizontal width coil. Both chassis had a cracked solder joint on the horizontal width coil as did another chassis I had someone else look at a year ago.
2. Cracked solder joint on PR701. Center Pin had a cracked solder joint on both chassis.
3. C705 is mislabeled on the bottom of the chassis. It reads C405 instead. I noticed this on an earlier revision of the 1801 chassis and haven't had a chance to verify it against later revs. C705 is located just above and in the middle of the 2 input filter caps C706A and C706B.
