This morning I fire up the games and saw 1 monitor in my Red Tent was doing this [see pic below]. There is also a hissing sound coming from the speaker. Within the garbled mess, I can still see the attract mode going. Any ideas? Ofcourse, I plan to do a cap kit but would like to know if there is anything else that could cause this before I place my order.

Thanks in advance

Tom

measure the resistance on the horizontal winding and the vertical winding. if either is open it is bad. i don't recall the specific resistance, but you can compare to your working monitor.

so, basically just pull the yoke connector and put your meter leads into the plug for each pair.(winding)

Tried to check the b+ and sparks and smoke came out of the flyback.
Time to buy a flyback I guess.
