Finally getting around to capping this with BR's cap kit, already running into a couple of questions...

1. Bob has sent me 33uf 25v caps in place of 33uf 35v for C424 (also C109 which I havent found yet). Is it safe to use these caps, or did he maybe send the wrong ones?

2. I have a 22uf 50v cap for C392. There is a spot for C392 on the chassis, but no cap currently installed, and not much space to install it. Should I put this cap in or leave it out?

3. I'm short a 1000uf 25v cap. I have 2 and should have 3 for C398, C106 & C420. Which 2 should I focus on?

This is on that Rush the Rock that's had this faint black squiggly line moving up & down the picture since I've had it. Finally getting around to capping this. Halfway done, taking a break for now and will finish it tonight (hopefully). I may come into another question or two later but for now, can anyone help me solve these queries?

Now a new problem. Put the cap kit in, but plugged the video cable in backwards. At this point, the monitor is getting power and somewhat of a picture. Realized my mistake, removed the video connector, and for some reason I unplugged the remote board, not sure why. Plugged the video connector back in, forgetting about the remote board, now the monitor wont even power up. Get out my multimeter and find the hot is shorted. OK. Ordered new hot and installed. Guess what? Still no power, and now a clicking noise from the chassis. Tested the hot again, its reading 018 on diode test, too low? Where should I go from here? Driving me nuts that I broke a working chassis and can't figure it out. Please help.

Hello!

We have a similar chassis that comes on the a repetitive clicking noise.

My *guess* is that it's the switch mode power supply shutting down due to overload (short) in a repetitive cycle.

We have two of them, and the 2nd one is close to working so we're going to be running that for a public event we do in Southeastern Virginia if we can get it working. Then revisit the 1st to try to get it working.

The Korteks are a bit of a pain. Hard to find service information for them.
