I've come across a SF Rush machine with a 27" Sharp Image monitor with a sticker that says '27" RCA DUAL SCAN BLUE YOKE JS' and looks exactly like this SI-727R-DS: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=61746

The HOT is shorted out, and the smps does the tick-tick-tick supposedly because of that. I'm unable to find a schematic for this board, and have run across something peculiar: There is a 10ohm resistor that is put in a place that is labeled C413 (right next to the HOT). Anybody else have one of these monitors or a schematic to check and see if this is normal? The resistor checks out, and isn't shorted or open.

The only information I have on the monitor from before it died was that it was "working." It currently has no raster and just ticks.

If I can't find any components that are shorted/open, should I suspect the flyback transformer?

unable to find any other bad components in the horz deflection circuit. Got out the magnifying glass and found the flyback legs have bad solder joints (including the leg the HOT goes to). Might this have caused it to draw too much current and slowly kill the hot?

Replaced the HOT and reflowed the flyback and any other suspect looking joints. Monitor powered right back up afterwards and has been working for a couple weeks without issue. Wasn't able to find any other glaring issues so hopefully it will last for a while! I'll update this is if I end up eating my words in the next few weeks....
