I have a Centipede cabinet which was converted (not by me!) to a Neo Geo one-slot. Unfortunately, the way whoever did the conversion drilled the control panel is poorly done, and the player 2 A (red) button is placed, it is pushed against the Player 2 start button, causing it to perform poorly.
I'm trying to find a shallow microswitch red button to replace the existing Player 2 A button. This will cause it to no longer hit the Player 2 start button, and resolve the issue. I've got a shorter button, but it's still about 2 inches long - I need something that's quite short. It's a metal control panel, so it doesn't need to have any real depth at all.

Does anyone know where I can find a very short red button?

Message me and send pics of what you're describing, I have a few red buttons laying around, short ones too. I might even have some that have the microswitch mount vertically vs horizontally. Or if a leaf style button would fit, I'm sure I have a few of those as well.

Here's a picture of the issue the white button (P2 start, it is pointing down in the pic) is physically pressed against the red button, causing them not to perform well

I see what you're saying, any chance of getting pic(s) from a different angle? It will help judge if I have a button that could help you out.

Here's a photo from another angle - is there any chance you could measure the length of the 2 buttons you PM'd me about?

I was going to suggest the sanwa button as well but I think the hole size is going to get you on that. They are very compact little buttons but like mentioned the hole has to be pretty exact or they wont stay in place.

I'll measure when I get home tonight, thought about doing that last night, and should have just grabbed the tape measure, lol.

If you went with the combo red & white buttons = 2 1/16"

If you went with the leaf style button = 1 1/2"

Measured from the bottom of the lip, that sits on the top side of the control panel, to the furthest tip that holds the microswitch/bottom of the blades.

I just measured what I have in there, and it looks to already be 2 1/6". I hate to go the leaf switch style route as I loose the satisfying click of hitting the buttons - any other thoughts? I'm open to trying the paradise ones next unless someone else has a better idea.

Have you tried to just twist those two buttons away from each other, just enough for them to operate correctly? Being that they are microswitch buttons, I'm having a hard time understanding how one is affecting how the other operates. Is the microswitch holder being forced away from the microswitch itself, so it's not holding it secure?
