I have a 4600 monitor and the picture is jumpy. It seems to shake from side to side during game play. It has recently had a cap kit installed in it and was working fine. Any thoughts?

I have this same problem and was told that it is a weak flyback, but I haven't tried changing it yet.

Start with the X/Y card. Make sure the solder joints on both sides of the connectors are good. And depending on which way it shakes, you may need to replace a hold pot.

When doing the cap kit, did you replace the 27-ohm resistor at R360?

If it was just recently recapped, check to make sure that the HWC wires didn't break or crack giving you a weak solder joint.

I'd wondered what that resistor was for. I did a search (I admit, only a brief one) and found mention of putting a resistor inline on one of the adjustment pots, but not for this. Thanks for the clarification.
