Putting together a SF2 and am using a jamma harness which was suppose to have 6 button - the wires are there and when I hook everything up all the p1 p2 p3 work like they should (punch) but no kick when I ground the last three wires nothing either.....what's up?

For Jamma machines, there is a separate "kick harness" that connects to the SF2 pcb. It's a molex connector for the game PCB side, and either a molex/modular or individual wires for the kicks (buttons 4/5/6 on p1 and p2). Typically go directly from those buttons to the PCB instead of using the big jamma harness.

*EDIT CPS-1 *

you can google "cps-1 kick harness"

SF2 has a separate 'kick harness' (get it?) that handles p4 p5 p6 for both players. You wires need to go to the smaller connector on the pcb and not the jamma harness.

You can not use a newer "chamma" (chinese jamma) harness style that has all six shot buttons on the harness. You also typically need to remove the p6 wires all together because that pin on a traditional jamma board is tied to ground.

Telling me this won't work if I wire it to the kick harness?

On my Capcom 18-1 I see a few possibilities.

Go straight from kick harness on little PCB to the buttons themselves..

Def worth double checking that jamma (what your board wants) and chamma (the edge connector you seem to have) don't have anything else to worry about.. those extra pins wired up should be checked against this jamma spec / pinout
