Ok so I have 2 sf2 boards, 1 knock off I got form someone on here and 1 sf2 turbo from ebay. They are replacing my cps2 mvc. I cannot for the life of me figure out why I am getting no sound. I have tried different speakers, checked the -5 and I just dont get it. I put multi on speaker wire and get like 5.9. I put a diff jamma in and sound worked fine. Any ideas? I notice spot M/11 there is noting, do i need something here??? Its driving me nuts. Any help would be great. I also have the speaker wired direct from the jamma@ board to speaker, not sure if that makes a diff

Check the sound program ROM (the only 27C512 on the B board) with a logic probe for activity. It's possible the Z80 CPU died on the A board.

If that's not it then recap the audio section. I've seen both issues cause the board to stop outputting sound.

A more uncommon issue would be a blown audio amplifier IC. This would be caused by a miswired cab or by plugging the boards into a Neo Geo cab that's wired for stereo audio.

heheh not really sure how to check any of those things. I had a cps2 in the cab which also was having sound problems so I assume I f'd both boards up since both sellers stated they were working when shipped. just makes no sense that other jammas sound work fine.

how can I check the amplifier IC

this is not my cab but it is the exact same one

But what is in the cab normally? If it's a 2/4/6 slot Neo Geo then you probably blew the amplifier chip on the board.

Are you using the same A board with both games? I've seen a few A boards where the vol+/vol-/test buttons have broken, and that's what this sounds like to me.

Edit: On second thought, your B boards are probably possessed. By demons. You should sell them to me cheap.

well the one is cps2 (which the sound wont turn up) and the other are cps1 which just have no sound. I am getting 6.25@ the harness and board on the speaker side also, not sure if that makes a diff. god this is driving me crazy

For CPS-2 boards they sometimes go whacky when switching game carts out.

Hold the volume down button in while you turn the game on. Keep holding down until the splash screen comes on. After that try to turn the volume up. I've had that issue on different A boards sent in with B boards for phoenixing.
