SF Rush the Rock to 2049 conversion..I've seen it..how's it done?

Someone mentioned there was a thread on here about how it's done. I've searched with no luck trying to find it. Anyone have a link to the thread or know if it exists on this site?

Saw it done at CAX and wanted details on what's needed.

Thanks,

Tom

totally different platform. Cant be done unless you have the 2049 boards to put into a RtR cabinet.

I knew I needed a board set, was wondering what else would be compatible. I know I need a VGA monitor too along with a keypad, but was hoping harness, force steering, shift, pedals and other components would be able to be re-used.

I see.

VGA monitor you know about (actually Rush2049 runs in a slightly off resolution so not true VGA unless you get the dips set right (I think its 640X400)).

2049 "might' also have all its switches wired N/C (Atari and WMS did this so that the system could detect a fault in say a shifter switch and disable the players ability to select the shifter).

Feedback... Hmmm... I seem to recall that RtR had a 90VDC motor in it whereas 2049 and the later driving games all had 20VDC motors in them. Might need to ask some one with each game here to verify though, its been almost 10 years since I put my hands on a RtR and we tossed our last 2049's a few months ago. Also, the drive boards are WAY different.

Pedals and steering pot should work (all 5k pots).

Wire harness. Well, the main harness is JAMMA so thats good but everything else is specific to each game so thats probably going to require some rewiring.

ahhh..good info... wasn't aware of the VGA thing being "sub" VGA ... appreciate the heads up. I might be better off selling the boardset and buying a whole machine! ;)

Thanks gamefixer

Its worth trying it on a VGA monitor. Most of them will pick it up and run fine.

You can run a VGA monitor from the video card on 2049 without a problem.

I have done this to verify my 2049SE was working. My Monitor was bad, had to rebuild the chassis.
