Just picked up a sit down SF Rush (The Rock) and played fine. Got it home, warmed it up, plugged it in and played for a couple hours at least. Played fine.

Then the monitor made a small "pop" and went dead.

Ideas on where to start looking? Fuses? Flyback? Any way to determine the problem?

I have got a call into the guy that sold it. And it should work out, but I would like to learn so I can do it myself if it happens in the future.

Thank you.

Both of my SF Rush monitors had a bad cap (bipolar) on a small board on the side... it caused bad pincushion, but if it had blown rather than just gone bad, it's possible that it could have caused the monitor to be dead. I'd take a look in there and see if you can see what popped. Does it do anything when you try to power it on? Like usual, posting the model of your monitor would be very helpful (I believe both of mine have a Neotec 27e).

Monitor is Neotec

Tried to remove the chassis, could not (easily) detach some of the wire connectors (did not want to use too much force)

So I took pictures of the neck board, main chassis board and the side board (on the transformer side of the chassis frame)

I will email them if you shoot and email to [email protected]

Thanks for any suggestions.

Also, anyone have any idea who can do repair on these North of Denver, CO (I am in Erie 80516)

Power issue- I think

Put it all back together and figured out the game plays blind. I can hear the game sounds and all the forcefeedback etc.. works.

There is no glow in the back of the monitor neck.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks.

Did you check the fuse? And R119 looks funny... is that just the outside chipped off, or is that burnt? You might want to check its value with a multimeter.
