I have a pair of 2049 sit downs, the monitor went out in one, I was unable to find anyone in the Fresno Ca. area to repair it so I had a TV repiar guy out, he said it was a power supply on one of the boards but he is unable to find it. Can anyone out there help me? I have a game room that has (2) 2049's (1) Cocktail Ms Pacman Galaga Donkey Kong, (1) Area 51 Maximum Force, (1) Crisis Zone (1) ATV Track (1) Black Rose Pinball so I'm sure I will need more help in the future as well.

Sounds like a incompetent tv repair guy. power supply problem?! sounds vague.
Can you find what monitor is in there? can you take a picture?
Do you here sounds from the game when coined up?
If so, do you here the monitor power up(usually a high whoosh sound)? But if you here the sound again in reverse order your monitor is shutting down.
Do you here a tick tick tick.... sound coming from the monitor? if so then you have a bad transistor and maybe a flyback.

correct tic tic tic no glow on the back of tube, the tv guy said he knows the problem but can not find the component to fix it. I can take a photo and send it to your phone so please pm me your #. I have (2) 2049's and both monitor boards are different from one another. Thanks for the help.

Take a few pics of the monitor board and post them. Sounds like a bad horizontal output to me. Could be bad caps too.

If it is a wells gardner u5000,u7500 the horizontal output transistor is a 2sc3686 or a nte-2324 cross, you should be able to get them at any good electronics place. You might have more problems then just that if the B+ ramp up because of the 1uf cap by the uc3842 ic in the power section. have him replace that and check the "esr" on all your caps, or just do a cap kit too. Hopefuly that is all your problems.

I'm in the Fresno area. I can repair games. Let me know if you have any problems with your games.

FWIW, if it's an original dedicated 2049 and not a conversion/upgrade it's almost certainly a D9200.
