Hello everyone!
I have a Street Fighter II Championship edition, bootleg.
I have read the only 4 eproms which are socketed (2x27c010 + 2x27c040 ) to try to identify the version and I got the following CRCs and SHA:
128kB
CRC(73479cf2) SHA1(15eb005261cbfeaee82d1d1a033f25db1c4b7faf)
CRC(6ef18ab4) SHA1(949983cc2189b882d2ee6236ac7a271b0c0406fe)
512kB
CRC(e74e04ed) SHA1(63cbcb4d5364eb6fffae7e2c984547b8447fd090)
CRC(215e1453) SHA1(caba6765e2fcfa971053042717f089e392a86701)
which unfortunately don't match any version of SF II
The main screen of the game says (C) Game Co 1991,92. which is the same as in SF2M2 version so I used an hex editor to check the content.
In the 512kb roms, just a couple of bytes don't match, the rest is OK.
I run the SF2M2 version in MAME using my eproms and it works ok!
These 2 eproms come without any cover in the window, so that might be the reason for the byte difference.
However I compared with an hex editor both versions of the 2x128kb roms and they don't seem to match at all. I also run them on mame and voices are now completely corrupted (music is OK).
Are the 128kb somehow encrypted? Could this be the reason why they don't match? I noticed that MAME uses all the roms from SF2CE (except the 2x512kb I have that are in SF2M2).
What I would like to do is to socket all the chips on the board and change to another bootleg version (i.e. willow, cadillacs and dinosaurs, etc.)
Anyone can help to identify this ROM version???
Thanks in advance.
P.S. If someone wants to have a look at the 128k, please PM me.
