several problems with Secret Service

I have several problems with Data East Secret service

1.Kickbig whitehouse don't fire.I mean even no balls and tha machine search for them,this coil didn't fire.When I knock the Relay which is connected,coil fires.But even the ball is located on the switch ,nothings happens.I see something strange.When I measure the coil when the machine is off,it show normaly 6omh,but when I turn on the pinball,the value is not constantly-4.0,7.5,5.0 and etc.I don't now where to look for this problem.I measure the diod on the coil and it's fine

2.Anohter mistery.Transisot Q50(3904) blows very ofen.This transisotr corespondending with the outhole,trough 1 2 3.I measure the diods that are connected with the siwtches but no problem.Of course when this transistor blow,coil for the eject hole not working.It blow not every time,it can be on second or fifth switch on/off.It only happesn when turn it on/off

3.I don't now if it's important if the test switch connector must be connected to the MPU.I mean can machine operate normaly if the connector is not pluged in.Because when it's pluged tha machine only say "secret service in digital stereo" and nothing more,it not goes to atract mode.But when is dissconected go to atracted mode and can be played.

4.And one more thing,when I power it on I see three leds-blanking,5V,PIA.When machine works normaly how they must light.Because it light onlye blanking and 5V constantly ,but PIA is off,but it's playable

First off I want to say I dont own this game so I cannot do any comparisons for you. A Buddy of mine has this game and I have been working on it this week and have become very familiar with it. I will try and address your problems the best I can, in the numerical order you have them listed.

Problems 1 and 2 appear to be related. First off Q50 is the switch drive for the following switches: Kickbig 1&2 (41 &42), Top Left and Right Ramp switches (43 & 44), Behind 5 bank 10 point switch (45), Outhole (46), and the Through 1&2 switches (47 & 48). I don't mean to insult your intillegence, but I suspect that the Kickbig whitehouse and the Outhole are the only 2 coils out of the 8 switch driven ones that you are noticing. If you take a closer look at the other coils driven by these switches I think you will notice that they don't fire when the machine is in the playing condition, but will work if you go through the coil test. This tells me that the problem is likely on the MPU. The components I would investigate are: Resistor Array R11, R100 1.5K ohms, C76, and the IC at 8J. My schematics are too fuzzy to identify. Even if C76 seems good I would replace it because it has likely taken some of the hit of Q50 being blown. Get into the test mode and test all coils and switches, something may be obvious.

The reason the Kickbig coil fires when you tap on the relay board for it is because the contacts on the relay are being briefly closed when you tap on it, this is normal.

Problem 3. I don't have the machine in front of me to answer this correctly, but the other machines I have worked on do not need the test connection to play.

Problem 4. I noticed these lights on my buddies game and the only 2 lights that work during game play that I remember are Blanking and 5 volts. PIA was not lit.

As with all problems, the solution may not be what I have listed, but it is a start.
