Pick up the freakin' phone or return my call please. I've been trying for over 2 weeks to get a shipping quote for my Flintstones Lucky Egg machine. I've called and left a message Monday and Tuesday of this week and didn't bother today hoping they'd simply call me back. Does anyone know what the deal is with those guys sometimes?

Anyway, maybe someone here can give me a rough estimate of what to expect. The machine weighs roughly 175 lbs and 59 X 29 X 24. Will they pallet and wrap it for me? Does anyone have a good guess as to what the shipping price will be? That new company coinopshippers quoted me $240 but I'll have to ready it for shipping -- they will only pick it up and ship it. Thanks guys.

i think qbert was $340.00 but a diffrent company, they put corner guards, pallet and shrink wrap. hope that helps.

You can try uShip.com. There are a lot of good private shippers out there. Johnnie and I have both used the same shipper before (Red Tent from WA & Golden Axe: RODA from TX) . He's great and cheaper than NAVL (and he answers his phone). They will also blanket wrap it and strap it down real good at no extra cost. Though, it always depends on what route he's on at the moment, but he usually let's you know when he can do a job and provides a quote.

Where are you shipping to?

Yep, that helps. Thanks guys. The three zip codes quotes I need are 55101 (St. Paul, MN), 60187 (Wheaton, ILL) , and 73301 (Austin , TX).

His name is Scott. Here's his uShip profile page. Just sign up for an account and you can contact him and request quotes via the website. It's pretty simple.

I have his number somewhere if you want to deal with him directly over the phone and discuss details, but I'll need to dig it up or get it from Johnnie. Scott is good people. If he's running a little late, he'll call you. If you have any questions, he answers his phone pretty much 24/7.

When he was driving the red tent down in his large truck, he got stopped at a weigh station and he didn't know how long it would take. So he transferred the red tent to a pick-up that his partner was driving so they could stay on schedule. He didn't need to do that, but he wanted to keep his word of when he'd deliver it to me. Great guy.

Thanks a bunch Jess! I just listed it on uShip.com and put in a special bid request through him. I'm betting he'll contact me tomorrow.

He brought me my VC2 from LA to San Jose for $100 and was really cutting me a deal.

If you are not on a time table and can wait till he happens to be going past that pickup spot then it can be the cheapest.

He also brought me a cab from Texas for $200. I tipped him every time however.

For navl, I've never called them, only gone through email, and they're usually pretty fast to respond.

This is who I was e-mailing with on my last NAVL shipment:

Yup...there ya go! They usually picked up the phone when I called, but were sometimes busy. Just call them back 20 minutes later if you don't pick up the first time.

I recently used Pilot Freight and had great results with them.

I did a "Door to Dock" where the seller had palletized and wrapped the game up. They picked it up in a residential area with a liftgate - delivered it to their warehouse and I picked it up at their dock - they even helped me load it into my truck. I saved a $100 by picking it up myself. If you have the time and the facility is near you, it may be worth it.

If you call there (info on their website) ask for Donna. If you fill out the form on their website, she will get back to you by e-mail.
