Why?

Do you just not care about the lot of us who had money or parts stolen from us so that scum judd could profit? Do you just not care? Is it a case of "well, as long as I get mine" or just a complete lack of compassion or even morals when it comes to stolen property? I seriously have always wondered this about the parts sourced by this criminal.

having bumped into a "I got mine" RAM customer in the hobby, I believe the rationale is that they're not doing the stealing/scamming and RAM has parts they need and they want to finish their games so, in their minds, there's no moral/ethical quandary 🤷‍♂️ draw your own conclusions.

i'd be curious (although there'd be no way to really determine this) what the ratio of parts-getters-to-scammed-folks is - not to weigh out the morality of the situation, but if only to understand how big his clientele was/is. his name/rep has been so thoroughly dragged and documented here i'm still baffled this is even entertained (i.e., buying from RAM)

additionally, the ethical implications aside, i wouldn't pay a vendor with the understanding there's a massive likelihood of getting scammed - this seems kinda dumb to me but i'm not in the "OMG ARCADE GAMES ARE MY LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE" camp

I'm not convinced Judd and Travis are the same person. Jury's out. However, I bought a food fight harness and a food fight joystick from him a few years ago. The joystick came immediately. The harness took like 6 months. I didn't know there was anything weird going on, even though I posted on this board all the time. I don't think people pay as much attention to that stuff as maybe everyone thinks. So people might just not be heading warnings here very closely.

I doubt this thread is going to get actual buyers to respond with answers. My guess though is these people think everyone knows at this point that RAM is a gamble and everyone decides if they want to take the gamble. Some people gamble and lose. Some people gamble and win. And the risk of gambling and losing is worth taking to them. Not saying I agree with this thinking.

Personally, he got me for ~$900. When I first bought some parts from him (Travis Reynolds) I wasn't aware of RAM controls. The parts I received were super high quality and what I thought was a pretty good value too (obviously if he wasn't paying for the materials..). I later bought another Williams wiring harness knowing of RAM and implications that Adam was using the name Travis (I didn't 100% believe it).

For me, the risk of losing ~$150 vs getting a new 100% correct reproduction harness(nobody else was making at the time) that i needed to finish a build was a no-brainer. I wasn't really considering what he'd done in the past, just my own 'Risk-vs-Reward' equation at that moment. (self-centered).

He later approached me with some original Williams 'Special Chips' (aka Blitters). I had no spares and was buying ROM boards from eBay to harvest these as donors for repairs. I originally bought ~50 which were delivered within a week. I later tried to buy more and that's when he got me!

It's so strange; The guy is clearly an expert at recreating parts to a very high standard (better than myself - even if outsourcing some things, he's modeling and picking materials/finish). I had talked with him a few times years ago on the phone and could tell how passionate he is with this stuff. I'm by no means making excuses for his actions, but there has to be some underlying story/mental issue at play here (or maybe his wife does it?), I really don't know. I think it's sad he couldn't have figured out how to make these parts sustainable and still make some profit without scamming.

That's the real head scratcher innit?

I've never bought anything from him or any of the associated names. But by all accounts of those who DO receive parts from him, they're very high quality, and he's reproduced some things that to my knowledge nobody else does. Not just vaporware or stealing others photos. He actually builds stuff.... But then scams anyway I guess.

Such a shame that he chose to be a scammer rather than charging more, doing it honestly, and being the community asset he could have been.

In any case, I'll continue my not buying from him.

I'm not convinced Judd and Travis are the same person. Jury's out. However, I bought a food fight harness and a food fight joystick from him a few years ago. The joystick came immediately. The jury is not out. They are the same person.

This has been linked to many other times in many other threads, but the return address used on packages from 'Travis' products has been shown via public records to be a property linked to Judd's wife. See post here. I can personally confirm having seen multiple boxes with this name and return address.

The address:

Travis Reynolds
7495 Buena Vista Drive
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

If you are inclined not to believe this, the burden is on you to provide an explanation for how the above would be true and them not be the same person.

What methods of payments does this guy take? If he's screwed over this many people there can't be many digital forms of payment he can accept.

I almost did - I found something someone was looking for, but one of the "Judd WARNING police" folks who tracks all his scams put their collective foot down and told us we were all stupid for not knowing that he had diversified into other avenues to scam yet again.

All the subtly of being hit in the head with a brick was used. I certainly learned from that, but I think some of us may run into one of his never-ending streams of alias.

As to whether Adam is Travis or whatever, if there is smoke (and aliases in play) there is a high probability that they are the same. I've been working for years, and don't have an alias.

The way you phrased the question, I almost thought it was rhetorical in nature, since which of us would have given those facts? The only answer I can give is what I said - scammer - so he changes his name, moves across country, uses different avenues, which makes it hard to pick up on who he really is.

One possibility is they could have been partners, formally or informally.

Edit: I'm not saying they aren't the same guy. I'm saying I personally don't think they are the same guy.

You are an idiot.

From my experience, all you can do is tell people and show them the evidence. If they don't care about that, well, they don't care about that. If you are in a position of power, can ban him from clubs and groups you maintain.

I'm not convinced Judd and Travis are the same person.

I believe they have shared the same address on packages which is enough for me to come to that conclusion.

Maybe. We will know shortly whether they are the same person or not. Because the Judd person will be in court and or prison. And Travis is still selling stuff on Facebook today. If that continues while Judd is in prison, it will be interesting to say the least.

Just a heads up about those sites, if I do a search with a phone number or address, that association gets made. I have created my own data and alias attachments by just searching :/

I believe his wife is also involved in scams and cons. Seems logical that she would help.
