Serial number swapping & matching (parts, PCBs, etc.)
Okay, so the premise of this is more "OCD" than normal, but...
...let's say I have a game in which serial numbers generally were on several parts of the machine, and matched the # on the cabinet itself. Like, maybe I have Dig Dug #432, but my PCB is #2048. (I'm not pretending to know the # format for Dig Dug PCBs, or even if they matched the cabinets - just an example.)
So, I have someplace where I can post my cabinet # and see if someone has Dig Dug PCB #432. Bingo: someone does; their board works, mine works, so we swap, and now I have a "numbers matching" Dig Dug when it comes to PCB & cabinet.
Has anyone tried a "Wanted serial #" section or thread?
