Sencore CR7000 Manual

bumping again and will send PM. SterlingRush, can you send me your updated file.

A few things I want to add is the B&K equivalent of the socket type, and maybe tube size eg. a48 = 19".

Happy to put it on my dropbox for all to download.

SterlingRush sent me the file awhile back and some have asked if I had it. I am pretty sure he have permission to host it so here it is.

Also, I was somewhat motivated to make a list of Sencore CR7000 sockets to B&K sockets. Basically I cross referenced some of the tubes from CR7000 list and looked them up on http://tubular.atomized.org/. If I was motivated and half talented, I would write a quick for loop script that used curl or wget to match these automatically.

note:Socket #3 and #10 seemed to match a bunch of B&Ks
Sencore - B&K
#1 - CR-23
#2 - CR-3
#3 - CR-70/71
#4 - CR-6
#5 - CR-31
#6 - CR-7
#7 - CR-34
#8 - CR-35
#9 - CR-24
#10 - CR-18/14/25/1
#11 - CR-20/22

CR7000-Actual Service Manual

Hi All, I was in the games biz back in 78-83. I'm starting a cpl of rebuild/restore video game projects.

Is there such a thing as a service manual for the CR 7000? Mine tells me all of my CRT's are bad and I know that some are new and/or work very well. I did d/l the schematics the other day from a site, but there is no troubleshooting or service notes that I could see anywhere.

Thanks

What specifically is it saying is bad? What adapter are you using and is it the same adapter for all tubes? It is not uncommon to fail the cut-off test at higher negative bias. You need to proceed to extended cut-off test. This thread is where I figured that out. https://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=348529 also has link to other cr7000 docs and info.

I didn't have a user manual when I started to try and figure out how to use mine but made some videos on my use. sometimes seeing other people's results (f ups) helps :) Also attached field doc for testing the unit.

You can buy the service manual direct from Sencore's service department at th phone number I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Make sure you specify the Service manual not owner's manual.

Sencore Manuals available?

Thanks Ken. I thought I'd seen someone say Sencore offered no support of any kind a while back. I'll call them in the morning.

-This has happened with different adapters on 3 occasions. During my latest adventures, I was working on an old scope CRT that was dim. I could set cut off but the Gun tracking flashed bad. As well Emission and Hi tracking were bad. ...before and after Some re-activation. After the Reactivation there was no improvement in CRT performance but at least I didn't kill the CRT.

-I also tried on a 40 year old 19VARP4 Asteroids monitor that I picked up. I'd be surprised if the CRT works once I go through the boards, and before bringing it up on the variac, but the CR7000 said it was BAD as well. I wanna see the power up before I attempt to rejuv this tube. I must say though that the phosphor burn is minimal. Maybe I'll get a surprise and it will beam up nicely!!

-So...I thought I'd give it a go on new/old 21FLP4 that works really well. I just thought I'd see what the CR7000 says. It is a NOS CRT in a 1956 TV that works really well, with less than 4 months of use on this 1968 replacement CRT. After I hooked it up to the CR7000, I couldn't even set the cutoff, but I do see in a new "SETUP data" excel ss I downloaded, that the bias is recommended to be set at 36 not 52 as per my original book. I will try checking again with that lower bias setting.

Thanks for replying to my post and for the additional links to good docs. I did scoop the Field test doc a few days ago and will check that info out.

Alex

I haven't messed with scope tvs but based on your results would guess your CR7000 is fully operational. You won't always be able to bring everything back 100% but it doesn't mean the tube won't look ok after some adjustments.

Sencore Phone Number

Hi All, I called Sencore today to get a service manual and no matter what dept. I tried, no live person answered.. just went to voice mail. Also their number is now 605-978-4600. The prev listed number is not in service.

CR7000 Service Manuals at Sencore

I called Sencore service/parts today. They no longer have the CR7000 or many of the older manuals in stock. They politely asked that I ensure the electronics enthusiast community know this so as not to waste their time calling for same. UPDATE: However if one were to finesse a fellow engineer who has been there for a long time...one might get access to something from a personal archive. Just sayin'!
