Selling off Tempest. Monitor has been worked on recently by John Ross from Pinball Plus. I would say the game is in 7.5-8.5 condition. Has very little wear and tear (most on the bottom of the cabinet). Has new back door with working lock. One key for front and back lock. The only bad that that I can mention is that a red line shows up with the words TEMPEST shows up on the screen during attract mode. Other than that, the graphics are sharp and the game plays like a dream. Asking for a firm $700 or a cash + Trade for a Mr. Do Arcade Machine. The only reason why I'm selling this beautiful game off is sadly it just doesn't do well at our arcade I and will replace it with another more profitable arcade machine. You are welcome to take a look at the games since it's still on our gamefloor.

Pleas send me a PM if interested. You can check out the game at Rusty Quarters, 818 West Lake St. Minneapolis, MN 55408.

I did not know Vikings could read.. i guess that helps when the memo goes out on plundering.

PS the red line is likely your brightness cranked way too high. If not probably an easy fix. Glad to hear John at Pinball Plus fixed the convergence issue as it was the big issue when we played it onsite. It is a game you really should not have sold in your arcade as it is one of the few real classics you had with character. Sometimes its not all about money in MYOP. I would have ditched the Rampage or a fighting game myself.

I beg to differ. In a REAL arcade, it's ALL about the money.

I can't pay rent with a game that turns out to be a 200lb paperweight . I love tempest but if it doesn't make me money, then it has to go. When we first opened we had the same problem with Crystal Castles, one of my favorite games growing up. Sure I loved playing it but it made no money. I had me choice but to sell it for Gauntlet I I which does very well here at R Q.

We have room for about 3 more games and I already know what they'll be: 1 more fighting game ( which I duckn hate but makes $$$), Mr. Do (a proven $$$ maker), and The Simpsons (which is a four player game with popular character and a game with a true ending, prompting customers to empty out their wallets just to finish the game).

After that, there will be no more room and I'll have to start keeping better records on which is the poorest money maker(s) and make a desision to sell those off for a better quarter eater.

You should get a bubble hockey table. I bet that would do okay.

I think you might find as time goes on that a lot of the classics are not going to earn like newer games. There is a reason why these games were taken out of arcades 30 years ago.
