I will start by saying this has nothing to do with any current deals I have in the works with anybody, but more to address some of these threads about guys waiting 4 weeks, 8weeks, 12 weeks, etc. I have had to initiate communication on numerous occasions after I've given someone my money, and that seems less than ideal.

1. If you list something for sale, that means you are prepared to ship it. Not, "I need to find a box, it may take awhile", or "I'm busy for the next 2 weeks, I'll get it out when I can"
If it's for sale, it's ready to ship! OR Communicate before accepting any money.

2. Pack your box so the items arrive safely. If I am shipping a board of some type, I personally always use an anti-static bag, bubble wrap-it, cardboard around the bubble wrap, styrofoam around the cardboard. Like one guy told me, I pack my box like it's going to be delivered by being dropped from a plane.

3. Communicate even more! Shoot over delivery confirmation #'s, tell the guy you got busy at work, tell them you got hurt, whatever.

This isn't ebay, this isn't a bunch of a-holes you don't know. Klov should be a safe place to make deals with a guarantee that your money is safe and things will be handled reasonably if something goes wrong.

Here are some best practices for buying and selling:

If you are selling something on this forum:
  • Fill out your location on your profile
  • List payment terms
  • List shipping terms
  • Post pictures when possible
  • Ask for gift if you want, but it's not MANDATORY
  • Ask for PP fees on top if you want, but read PP's rules as it's not allowed by them.
  • Package it properly!
  • Insure the package, It is on you as a seller if something gets broken in transit.
  • Ship timely or communicate why you can't
  • Leave feedback for buyer

If you are buying something:
  • Ask questions
  • Ask for pictures
  • Ask for payment terms
  • DO NOT pay by Gift unless you feel OK with it.
  • Research the seller before buying
  • You DO NOT have PayPal protections when using gift payments
  • You do NOT have to give anyone % on top of their price for PP "fees" but it's cool if you do
  • Sellers have the right to not sell to you for any reason
  • Sellers do not have to go in any specific order but most do go in order of either post in thread or PM received
  • Ask for insurance on the package. If it's uninsured then the situation could get ugly if it's damaged in transit
  • Leave feedback for seller
  • Take pictures if the box is beat up, both before and after opening. Filing an insurance claim is a pain. Pictures will help.
Gift payments aren't to be mandatory and making it so is against your PP terms of use and is a red flag to many buyers.

If you have anything to add to either post... PM me and I'll edit it. Other than that, this thread is locked and stickied.
