Selling/refunding question when the deal goes wrong...

If he was so down-on-his-luck broke to require the gas money to drive the board (that he wants to sell) into town, he should have figured that into the cost of the board or stated he wanted 10 bucks specifically for his gas tank. Jesus H... why are there so many guys coming out of the woodwork like this that have such a hard time with business transactions? I think Cpt. P needs to avoid selling and stick to just playing. Sorry you were treated with such disrespect Johnny.
 
Preface: I'm not defending the seller at all. Not my point, so please don't flame me for siding with the rude assclown.

As for the shipping, I do see his point. If you guys agreed to $20 shipping, it shouldn't matter to you is that's $5 postage and $15 "hassle fee", $10 postage + $10 gas, or $21 postage and he eats $1.
 
He posted it for "$30 shipped" then asks for $7 more because of the shipping to CA. (costing him "$22 to ship it")
I figured the board was too big to fit in a flat rate box so I pay. I probably would not have minded if he just said... I think I marked it too low. Can you do $37 instead... but he used the shipping price as an excuse. When I saw how it was shipped it was clear to me that i totally got gouged on shipping. I called him out because I believed that he lied about CA shipping being the issue.

Wrong board comes in a flat rate box that only cost him $10.20 home-printed label online price. I make one comment about a flat rate box not costing $22 in shipping and he goes off on me more than once about "bitching" about the shipping. He also changed the story and comes up with the excuse about driving it into town. I know that it's BS because he changed the story from CA shipping to S/H delivery into town. When the post office actually picks up Priority boxes when they are pre-paid. I did not call him out on the subsequent points but he kept on bringing up my comment about his shipping price.

Not once did he apologize for shipping me the wrong board. He even throws in comments that he has owned OW before and that he knows the boards. I've never owned OW but have 2 OW boards and this is not the board he says it was.

Another point... if he's justified in charging a S/H of $22 for his time/gas etc to ship it... he should reimburse the same amount in return for the wrong item. Obviously my time isn't as valuable as his time. I shipped it back faster than it came to me and I did not contact him for the refund till Wednesday when it got there on Monday. He still goes off on me.

Thanks Sean, I wished there was a better way of separating the good peeps on this board from people I'd rather not deal with.

How did you pay him? Screw waiting for a refund, if it was any type of electronic payment, file for reversal. If you sent him a check, eat the refund and start mailing him dead things in a box. Or one of these;

Wasn't he the one threatening to report people to Namco for selling 48-in-1 boards (on ebay, CL, etc), when he himself sold them? Sorry for your experience, not all of us Michiganders are douchebags ;)

John is a great guy and this is bullshit. Ive had nothing but good transactions with him and I would be fucking pissed to if I paid 22 dollars for shipping and they used a flat rate box. Nuff said!
