Selling/refunding question when the deal goes wrong...
So I purchased a "UT" untested board from a KLOV seller. The price was marked up an additional $7 from what was listed cause he wanted $22 for shipping to Ca. I'm like whatever... sure... I pay. I know it's a long board but instead get a smaller board in a medium flat rate box. HUH? California shouldn't have mattered if it's in a flat rate box!
I got it 7 days after I paid but it's clearly not the right board. I notified the seller and I got.. "Are you sure?" I confirmed with the KLOV pics to show that it's an earlier version of the game in the series. Very different looking boards however. The edge connector is the wrong pin count also.
Well I ask for a refund and they offer it after I ship the board back. I ask for reimbursement on my shipping cause it was clearly a seller error and not a misunderstanding.
I never got an apology, I just got "nope" on the shipping refund. I say "Why? because I wasn't wrong on this one I would like a refund on return shipping." I then got an angry response and a threat to report me for continuing to contact him on these boards. How are a couple of PMs harassement?
Am I wrong for expecting a refund? I figure this is a community of collectors and not a place for the "buyer to beware."
It's not feedback yet, I'm curious if I am out of line for expecting a refund when I don't think I did anything wrong. I could have asked for pictures but the seller seemed sure of what it was. He said it came out of games cab (not a kit game all are deds) but the edge connector is different. I actually think that it wasn't "untested" but "tested not working" but sold with the hint of hope...
UPDATE: 9/24
Seller agreed to pay me back shipping if it is indeed the wrong board. He then called me a little prick for calling him out on the $22 supposed shipping charges (when he spent under $11 in the flat rate box)
I sent it back yesterday took a picture of the box, confirm delivery, and price paid to ship it back for his reference. I sent him the pick gave him the shipping ammount I paid. I also said that I took more pictures of his board, and the board it was supposed to be (I have the actual full working machine) in case he needed more pics.
He said that "he didn't need to see a damn picture" and called me a prick again. Class in short supply it seems.
