Selling off my Classic Lucasarts collection for the PC

Day of the Tentacle has to be my favorite of the SCUMM games...

I really need to start playing some more. If I had the cash, I would buy that collection.

I just pick them up piece by piece at Goodwill from time to time.

Nice collection.

Needs more Sam & Max.

Awesome collection, sad you're letting it go. Good luck with the sale though.

I remember playing all of these games. I own a lot of them in the re-released CD-ROM format. I also remember playing all of the Sierra point-and-click adventure series (Space Quest, Police Quest, King's Quest, etc.)

My Top 5 SCUMM games:

1. Day of the Tentacle
2. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
3. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
4. Sam & Max Hit the Road
5. Full Throttle

The only two I have (still boxed!) are Full Throttle and Dark Forces.

I got Full Throttle at a church rummage sale about two years ago... I gave it to a friend of mine before even giving it a try :( I was stupid...

I have Sam & Max, the CD-Rom version "with full talkie" it's in the box, and even has the bonus mini strategy guide...

I used to play Day of the Tentacle at my cousin's house... He doesen't know what happened to his CD for it... I wish he could find it.

These are my boxed games. I have another set of these games just CDs, including Day of the Tentacle. And there not copies but originals also. So I will still be able to load them up and play them which I do with Day of the Tentacle.

My first step into the SCUMM games (other than the original Maniac Mansion) was when my dad brought home our 486 with Win3.1 in the early 90's. It came with OEM discs for Indian Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Day of the Tentacle. I did nothing but play those games for a long damn time.

I later got some big box set at Toys R Us that had copies of both of those games, Sam & Max Hit the road, as well as a few other LucasArts games. And then after that I managed to get copies of IJ and the Last Crusade as well as a few more of them over the years.

I've since managed to get my hands on the full collection, though not all of them are boxed and a few are...admittedly...not legit copies. Fortunately, Steam offers a handful of them and I've picked up the LucasArts collection there as well, though I haven't even installed them (I prefer to play them via SCUMM VM anyway).

I picked up a full boxed version of S&M on ebay a few years ago for like $5.

I got a copy of Fate of Atlantis with our first CD-ROM drive (2x speed!). It came as a bundle with a sound card and the drive. It blew my mind when I heard people talking from the PC :D

That very well may have been where I got mine. I believe that old 486 had an amazing Soundblaster (!!!), if I remember correctly. It was a custom build that my dad had built somewhere.

The only SCUMM game I played was the original Maniac Mansion and it was the NES version. I spent many hours with that one and even had the hint book you could send away for. :) Day of the Tentacle always seemed like it would be fun, but the computer I had growing up around that time was only a Rat Shack Tandy model.

Jedi Knight is the one I spent the most time with out of those games. I was even in a clan called "Champions of the Force" and when I played online, it was almost always lightsaber only duels on the good old MSN Gaming Zone. :)
