What a collection! I hope you are really sure about this! I would totally regret it one day if it were my collection.

I haven't changed my NES cart since i got a RetroUSB but I still love the collect-ability of the carts, they're just so damn cool.

great almost as much money as I'm saving for my new car. Let me know if you wana split them up because I could use some Dragon Warrior games if the're in there...

This seems to happen to a lot of retro game collectors nowadays. Sell off what takes years to find and acquire in favor of emulation or a CF based cartridge. Somehow, it just makes me sad.

I wonder if, when the NES age group is in their 50's/mid-life crisis time they will want the originals back again. Or if these old cartridges will become like CD collecting...a product that just takes up space that many would rather have digitally.

No offense to the OP. I wish the sale the best. If I were rich, I would totally buy it.

That's where I'm at now.

In no way did I have a collection like this, but when I was younger, my older brother sold off all our NES stuff at the time (50+ carts, complete ROB with accessories, Power Glove, etc.) to upgrade to something else (I think a Sega Saturn).

I picked up a CIB NES Action Set (gray zapper) a few years back. Occasionally, I'll try to pick up some carts on eBay. I recently picked up a nice condition Power Glove with sensors. I'm at about 50+ carts again and hope to grow that in the years to come.

I'm 30 years young and I've come to realize the NES was and still is my all-time favorite console (hence, my handle) so I doubt I'll ever sell my collection. If we're all about nostalgia here, then this collection is my jewel.

Good luck with the sale man. If I had $3000 to burn, I'd buy it. :D

To the OP: Good luck with your sale. I posted a link over at Nintendo Age. Hope you don't mind.

There are some who do this, but they are more the people who consider themselves players rather than collectors.

Over at Nintendo Age there is a lot of discussion about this topic. The market is alive and well, with a lot of NES games reaching in to the hundreds and a few regularly reaching thousands (mostly if they are CIB, but at least one doesn't have to be... Stadium Events).

And the market is growing. Nintendo is on a high, NES specifically. "Retro" is in and hipsters love it.

It's more uncommon for someone who has been collecting for 5+ years to be getting out than it is for someone who started more recently and burned themselves out. Obviously it does happen.

No problem Mindl3ss.
And to everyone that has mentioned not to sell them, I'm in no real hurry to sell them.
But the problem I have is the space the games take up. Right now I have 2 72" bookshelves pretty much full.
I love playing them and they did take me some time to acquire the collection that I have, but with 7 arcades, and 6 gaming systems I have to draw the line somewhere.
And for anyone interested I really wouldn't take anything less than $3500 for them. :)

Well.........that is the most fantastic thing I have seen in a while. Sweet collection sir. Good luck on the sale.

Sold off a HUGE CIB genesis collection a couple years back. Bought some pinballs with it.

I miss 'having' them. Didn't ever play them, took up space, so they went in favor of something I enjoy even more.

Now I look at my other collection and in between Wife/Kid/Work/Art/Hobby when am I going to play all of them?

Nice collection and I hope you get what your asking for it. You can't just get these games anymore!
