"Selling My Husband's Collection" listings on ebay . . . is this anyone we know?

Saw this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/253087400390/

seller id is "ribbonblankiemama" from Corona, CA

Wondered if another one of us collectors had passed away, or if it was something more sinistar. . . Or perhaps a wife helping out with eBay listings.

Hopefully nothing bad has happened.

I doubt that's really the case...unless her husband had a huge collection and been dead for a long time.

looking at the sellers feedback, for more than a year, it lists arcade parts.

Corona, CA - a very "infamous" place indeed.

Well they may be legit or not, but how long would it take someone to sell your collection who knows nothing about your games and parts? A year goes by pretty fast.

This is why I am selling off un-needed parts and at least making a list of things and how much they are worth now.

I have bought from her with no issue. She is Cathy Smith on PayPal. Just realize that untested is non working but you should always assume that.

I think it's legit. A lot of the stuff she has is rare and unusual. Some stuff she can't identify but a hobbiest can. A lot of guys in this hobby or line of profession are hoarders and a years time could easily go by.

Could be a divorce - wife gets to liquidate all those pcbs that have been cluttering up the place ;)

(I think I bought something from her and it was exactly as described so no problems).

I have done the same thing. Not that it would matter. If I get taken out, she will probably just call some of the local guys and get them to take it away and keep a couple of the working games for the kids to remember me by....

She wouldn't bother with the ebay thing.

wow, that got grim.

;)

I've bought from her also, mostly Neo MVS carts, if it's truly her husbands collection, it's amazing the number of duplicates he had. She has sold upwards of 10+ Metal Slug 5s alone, BustAMoves by the dozens... lots of stuff to say the least. All my dealings with her have been very pleasant.

Ive putchased MVS carts from her also with no issues so buy with confidence. Just keep in mind untested = not working
