So I have an Asteroids game that I actually have a lot of fun playing. Its in beautiful shape and works perfectly. Its currently the only Vector in the Drewcade. However, I just recently received an offer of $600 for said machine, and I like that price, but I wasnt exactly planning on selling it, and now I have this feeling in my gut that I would hate to see it go. Am I crazy? Whats the going rate on Asteroids?

a lot less than $600. You can have mine $300 after you sell yours. For another $50 I'll throw in the new reproduction control panel I have on the way from takeman.

Well, knowing that I can replace the game for a decent price makes me feel better about the deal. I appreciate it :), you may hear from me very soon.

I have a blown fuse all of a sudden in the 'power brick' once I figure that out (need some time) I will be back in business.
just moved the stupid game 10 feet and now I have the blown fuse.

I agree. Sell it and if you really want, replace it. But if your cab is a 9+, then I would have to think about it.. You can find 7 or 8's, but really nice is not that easy..

Personally, I would go off the board and get an asteroids deluxe or space duel..

$600 is a lot of money for Asteroids, but if its trouble free and you like it, is it worth 300 bucks or so to move it out, hunt another machine down, move that in and fix its cosmetic and possible technical issues?

I value my free time enough that possible aggravation wouldn't be worth the 300 bucks to me.

My #1 game I wanted to collect was Dragons lair. Picked up in good cosmetic shape non working for $100. Sold 4 days later for $400 and the buyer repaired 3 of my games in my garage in less than 2 hours. (I was new to the trade and really needed the knowledge). I am still trying to conscience myself it was a smart sell. I made a good connection to a man that repairs monitors but my #1 game was only in my garage for 4 days.

FYI the monitor wouldn't work and the disc had disc rott. Everything else worked and when he repairs it I may have a chance to buy back.

***edit
Sorry I ranted and gave no advice lol. If you think you can find another for less money than you received for your current one I would sell it. I see a lot of that game changing hands.

it all depends. if you really like the machine but could get another one for $200 less sometime in the future, is the difference worth your time to find the other one? does the new one need cleanup and other work? don't forget to take into account your time to sell this one, your time to pick up the new one, and gas and other related expenses.

i was just offered a lot of cash for my new Ice Cold Beer... i would've made 5x what i have into the machine (between buying it sight-unseen as a project and installing new belts and motors,) but i know the likelihood of finding another anytime soon is low. yeah, eventually i'd probably get one and at a lower cost than the sale price but to me it's not worth the time to search out another.

My prized posession Dragon's Lair drove away in the back of a white van yesterday. I can't believe it is really gone.

I'd be on the fence as well...

I needed some money a few years ago and sold my Reactor and my Zoo Keeper. Reactor - really cool but I didn't play it enough. Zoo Keeper, total mistake. Terrible Mistake. I like Asteroids Deluxe better as well so I agree with the others that have said that, but seller's remorse really sucks.

As common as Asteroids is, sell it. $600 is a great price in today's market. You should be able to find one for $300 - $350 if you want one back.

It's one thing to sell a harder to get machine, Asteroids are a dime a dozen. Just my 2 cents.
