Sellers asks for Paypal Gift Payments

Wow Seems to be allot of confusion on this matter.

Here is how I understand it:

Buyer sends Seller $ as goods = seller pays fees.
Buyer sends Seller $ as gift = buyer pays fees IF its a credit card, bank cards are FREE.

Paypal does not insure GIFT payments.
Therefore if a Seller would just add the fees into the selling price, the buyer could send as goods and be protected.

Paypal fees:
$10 - .59
$20 - .88
$50 - $1.75
$100 - $3.20
$500 - $14.80
$1000 - $29.30

So Sellers just do everyone a favor and add the fees into your price and be done with it.
Most items I have seen on here are $200 and below so your talking $6.10 in fees and less.

What really gets me is when the seller includes shipping in their price then ask for a gift payment.
Come on! Do the math, you already added shipping just add paypal fees too.
$20 shipped becomes $21 shipped.
$50 shipped is $52 shipped.
$100 shipped is $104 shipped.
WHOOPIE!!

Good thread, I don't understand when a seller asks for a gift payment, to me calculate that into your price. I won't gift and once some one asks for it that way i usually tell them i'll pass, it's not worth the hassle. The only guy i have ever done gift with was Dokert and he didn't ask and i had bought off him many times.

you know what? i have never thought about it that way. i never thought about it being giving up your financial protection, but that makes sense. i usually ask people to send cash as a gift when i print the shirts, and didn't think about it. from now on i will just include the paypal fee into the shirt price. sorry if me doing this caused anyone to be skeptical about doing a transaction with me. as i said, i didn't even think about that.

Mike all I can say is I ask you to do some customer work on my hoodie. When the first one didn't workout you redone it and wouldnt take any money for the work or shipping. So my two cents I will send yours as a gift without hesitation but probably not for anyone else. Glad to see your back making shirts
