I played one of these recently (dedicated), and I must say I was blown away! Easily surpasses Space Fury for me as far as the Sega vectors go. Maybe of all the manufacturers????

What are these going for? 2K, 3k+? I see people here and have found Zektor parts but never the whole cab. (Even though it's just the converta-cab).

Wish I could stumble across one whole... hell I wouldn't mind frakensteining one together. Chances on that are just as slim!

Question for the players.... what strategy on the bosses do you use? Do you stay stationary and fire or do you circle him/her? I know 'sometimes' the first strategy works, but sometimes never could pull a shot off! I manged to pull off a 110,000 score on this particular machine - fun, fun!

Edit: I see my bud Caddysrule asked the same question last year. Guess the going rate was around 3k.

People have parts but its hard to pry them out of there hands. We have a boardset but will probably end up making a bezel, marquee and cpo. Have not played it yet.

I just grabbed the last of the artwork needed to make one. But doing it the better way. Ive got a few converta cabs here, so just going to place a a computer in it to load straight to zektor. Saves working on the old boards and means i dont have to keep a fire extinguisher next to it like all other sega vectors

If you went the ZVG route, how does the sound compare? I don't have real world comparison, but I know the Sega vectors all have problems in MAME. Spare Fury and TAC/Scan especially.

The speech samples in Zektor, Space Fury, and Star Trek play really quietly in Vector MAME. Even with the volume cranked all the way up.

Gameplay is awesome, though I have never played a real Zektor.

many years ago, my buddy sampled the sounds off my games for tac/scan, and many of the cinematronics games. Don't know if they are still used, but they should be accurate.

As far as zektor, I can't imagine why you could not use a tac/scan control panel to play it. Find a tac/scan or space fury and go multigame. If they actually do a multi sound card, it would be a great setup. I have two sega cabs. My plan is to keep a dedicated tac/scan for vertical and multi the 2nd cab.

Bill, that's the route I'm going to take. Currently on the lookout for a Star Trek or Space Fury and go from there. Since the panel and bezel look 'blah'on Zektor, I really don't think I'm missing too much.
