i have a sega virtual cop 2 arcade game. it seems to have two problems i cant figure out. After 30 or so minutes the game screen turns blue. all sound ect. is there like the game is working just no picture ? also the red gun is getting very random when go to calibrate it seems ok but when you track the gun on the aim screen it jumps around once and a while .
other then this the game plays normal.any helpful advise would be great!

First thing is to check the +5 volts at the board, If it is low it can make the board flake out, Not shure you no how to do this? If not i can talk you through it.

Re: off tracking on the red gun:

First, I would determine that it's the gun that's the problem.

A way of checking this is to swap the red and blue guns' connectors on the gun board and see if the problem still occurs with the red gun. If this is the case, then it's the gun. It could be the sensor but by your description of the problem I'd guess it's a short in the gun cable. You should check the continuity of the wires in the red gun's cable while flexing it. Then you'd know if you have a short.

You can replace the cable with a new one. You can also replace the guns with a decent used ones from Ebay.

Finally, you can call this guy: www.irepairsega.com - he knows this game inside and out and can provide further assistance for this problem and the other one you are having. Very helpful dude and he can save you a lot of frustation. I think he mentioned that you have to be careful about whom you buy the gun cables from so you might want to call him before buying anything.

I used to have this game and sold it a few months ago.
